Rainfall Barely 24hrs Muslims Observed Special Prayer In Osun

Barely 24 hours after Muslim Ummah converged at the Osogbo Central Eid (prayer ground) to pray for rainfall as crops in various communities of the state continue to wither, some parts of the state capital on Monday experienced rainfall .

Muslims had on Sunday gathered at the Osogbo Central Eid for a special prayer to seek God’s intervention over the drought running into weeks.

It will be recalled that many farmers and residents in osun state had continued lamenting on failure of rain to fall despite being the month of raining season, a situation causing panic on what will be the faith of farmers and skyrocketing of food items in the market .

The prayer led by the Grand Imam and Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas, Osun State, Sheikh Musa Animashaun was said to seek God’s mercy as various crops, including maize, yam, millet, among others, are drying up, with farmers crying out over possible losses.

Our correspondent who monitored the situation Monday morning reports that places like Oke-fia, Owode-Ede, Abere, Ogo-olowu, Olaiya among areas within the state capital witnessed downpour early hours of Monday.

Some of the residents who spoke to our reporter expressed gratitude to God for answering their prayers.

Recall that Sheikh Animashaun after observing the two rakats stressed the importance of fearing Allah, noting that this was a prerequisite for God to listen to their prayers and provide the much-needed rain.

Sheik Animashaun at the special prayer on Sunday emphasized the importance of seeking Allah’s guidance and forgiveness during challenging times.

He called on the residents of the state to seek forgiveness and blessings from God.

“Whenever there is a possible threat of drought, we are enjoined by Allah (SWT) through His Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) that we should go back to Him, and seek His guidance and forgiveness.” Sheikh Animashaun stated.
